Luke 12:7 (KJV) "But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows."
Today I want to continue yesterday's Devotional letting you know that you are more valuable than a sparrow.
What is your loss today? Were you abandoned by a spouse? Today I want to tell you that God will bring you out. You need to stand fast, trust God and do not give up.
I can think of no better example from the Bible than Job who went through the greatest loss recorded in biblical history; his family, his health, his wealth, and his standing in the community. Yet his faith and integrity remained intact. In place of resentment he made a resolve, "When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold" (Job 23:10).
Let us choose today to stand fast and not grow weary because when we persevere we will come forth as gold, so that our faith is proven genuine and our testimony is far reaching to both those who believe and those who do not believe.
Today I want to say to those who are feeling unloved, lonely and forgotten, God loves you. You are precious in His sight.
Though it may not seem that way, He has your situation under control. Continue to trust and believe. You are loved and very valuable to the Lord.
Jesus encourages us that if our Father is intimately involved in the falling of one sparrow, how much more is He involved in our everyday lives!
He really, really loves us and is involved in the smallest details of our lives. If there are days that you feel alone, when you think that no one is really attending to your needs, remember this scripture passage.
He has taken the time to count each hair on your head, not because He is bored or has nothing else to do, but to simply demonstrate your great worth in His sight.
His call to you is not to be afraid. He is in control of all that goes on in your life and since He cares for the sparrows, He will certainly care for you.
The Bible says in Isaiah 49:16 (NIV) See; I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.
Prayer: Father I know You are in control of my situation even when I feel that my life is out of control. Help me to trust in Your incredible ability to care for each detail of my life.
Thank You for taking the time to count all the hairs on my head! I know You love me, and I believe that my worth to You is of greater value than many sparrows. I pray that the reality of this truth will seep deeper into my heart today. In the name of your beloved Son, Jesus, I pray, Amen.
