THE STATE OF THE COURTS IN WARRI IS UNACCEPTABLE; WE NEED PEACE...

THE STATE OF THE COURTS IN WARRI IS UNACCEPTABLE; WE NEED PEACE TO ACHIEVE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT- CHIEF THOMAS EREYITOMI

The PDP candidate for Warri Federal Constituency has this to say about the state of the Warri High Court.
“If voted in as member representing Warri Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, I will ensure an aggressive advocacy to return us to the good old days that many of us remember.

Chief Thomas Ereyitomi said this while fielding questions from pressmen yesterday in Warri about some of his plans for the Constituency.

The candidate of the PDP in the 2019 National Assembly election for the Warri
Federal Constituency said that as a graduate of Political Science and holder of a Masters Degree in Public Administration, he better appreciates   the role that fitness and propriety of court halls environment, comfort of judicial workers and judges can play in the dispensation of justice.

He lamented the fact that despite the approval of a National Industrial Court for Warri for some time now, the lack of court hall and logistical arraignment have made this impossible to bring this gift to fruition; leading to litigants and lawyers having to continue to travel interstate and interregional distances to do their cases. He said; this is not acceptable! If voted into power, I will make the resolution of this issue a priority.

He further lamented the complete stoppage of construction work at the site of the new High Court Complex in the Warri, recalling;  In those days, Warri used to pride itself on having the best court halls, even as our lawyers used to be the most renowned only second to a few from the West. We must go back to the good old days and then begin to make efforts to surpass them.

He commended the Warri Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association for sacrificing their hall and making it possible for the Federal High Court in Warri to kick off. He however regretted the absence of advocacy at the level of the lower chambers in getting a permanent and befitting hall for the court; noting that Warri is the only city with a Federal High Court outside any state capital and as such he would prioritize advocacy for the building of a befitting edifice and the deploring of additional judges to reduce the work load on the current and only judge in the division; which situation he said was not healthy for the judge and litigants alike.

He also said that there was need to tweak the social and economic environment in Warri once again to ensure that the city booms as it did in the good old days. I will work to ensure peace and harmonious coexistence as a means of re-attracting the corporations that once used to keep the city alive. I will also work to lobby the acceleration and revitalization of the Warri and Koko Ports which is ongoing but long overdue and moving at a pace too slow for my liking. I will explore working with International, Federal and State Government development agencies for the attainment of a turnaround in the state of our courts. As you know, I am renowned for lobby which is the greatest tool of a legislator

The Warri Chief also said; the National Assembly should not be a tool for people to enhance their private business but for service to the people. I am an established business man by all standards and my desire to go and serve in the national assembly is driven by the need to give more to my people

He urged the good people of the Federal Constituency to; come out in their numbers and vote for change after 12 years of mediocrity. A vote for me is a vote for the new way of thinking and service He concluded. http://bit.ly/2Bre9zT

NGO takes human trafficking campaign to Lagos streets urges govt to block the routes

By Esther Onyegbula

A Lagos-based non-profit organisation, Kick Against Human Trafficking and Human Rights Abuse Foundation , KAHTHRAF, on Monday took to major streets in Lagos State to create awareness on the dangers of human trafficking and the plight of rescued survivors.

•Participants at the campaign

President of KAHTHAF, Barr. Ojay Akinwale who led the campaign train which included rescued survivors, officials of the National Agency For the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP and others, said all hands must be on deck to fight the menace of human trafficking and plight of rescued survivors.

He said the aim of the campaign is to prevail on the government and relevant agencies to identify human trafficking routes and block them.

“The focus is to prevail on them to go beyond arrest and prosecution of human traffickers but also to block all routes the traffickers are using. There are identified routes in the northern part of the country where these youths are made to engage in perilous journeys but we are saying that government should rescue people before they go on this dangerous voyage by blocking the routes. We are targeting 50,000 youths as we feel preventing them from being trafficked will go a long way in reducing cases of human trafficking.”

The Zonal Commander of NAPTIP, Lagos Command, Mr. Daniel Atokolo while receiving the campaign train in his office said the agency is not resting in fighting human trafficking.

He said: “We are identifying the routes but it will interest you that Nigeria is a source, transit and destination country and this is due to our porous borders. We are working with the relevant agencies and we urge Nigerians with relevant information to pass it across to us. Last year, we had 13 convictions, in one month we had seven convictions.

Also, the campaign train stopped at the campaign office of the All Progressives Congress, APC gubernatorial candidate, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

When the campaign train visited the Lagos State Police Command, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Edgal Imohimi was not on ground to receive the campaigners but the spokesperson for the command, CSP Chike Otti said the police in the state will give support to stop human trafficking

2019: US Consul General visits Olu of Warri, preaches credible polls

By Eseoghene Emuke

The United States Consul General in Lagos, Mr. John Bray on Tuesday visited the Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli, where he seeks for the support of revered monarch for a free, fair and credible elections in the forthcoming general elections.

Bray particularly called on traditional rulers in Nigeria to champion the crusade for credible and violent free elections especially in the Niger Delta region in the elections holding February and March this year.

The U.S Consul, who led the high profile delegation to the monarch’s palace on Tuesday, said the visit to Olu of Warri was part of his engagement tour of critical segments of the country ahead of the polls.

He was emphatic that America was not interested in any individual candidate, nor any of the political parties, but in the process, which he said should be free and fair to all contestants.

In his response, the Olu of Warri, thanked Mr. Bray-led team and the United States for what he described as their consistent policy of promoting peace and level playing field for all contestants in every election in Nigeria since 1999.

The Itsekiri assured that he was already talking to his people to shun violence before, during & after the elections.

He disclosed that he had appealed to President Buhari during his visit to his palace about two weeks ago, to keep to his promise to ensure INEC was left to do its job without interference.

The first-class monarch stated that he would continue to pray to almighty God and his ancestors to ensure there was no violence anywhere in the Niger Delta in the course of the 2019 elections.

OMG : How Professor Charles Dokubo Defraud The Amnesty...

OMG : How Professor Charles Dokubo Defraud The Amnesty Beneficiaries

Professor Charles Dokubo cannot flagrantly abuse the power of his office by reneging on the terms of a valid contract he signed with the entire presidential amnesty programme students with his two eyes opened.
Under Nigerian law of contract, Professor Charles Dokubo has so far committed a serious breach of the contract between the Federal government and the amnesty programme students numbering over 700 which he has withheld their financial entitlements according to the clear terms of the document below he gave all of them to sign on resumption of office.
Trietel, in his book law of contract, defines contract thus..
“An agreement given rise to obligations which are recognized or enforced by law”
Prof I. E. Sagay in his book, Nigerian law of contract defines contract thus..
“A contract is an agreement which the law will enforce or recognize as affecting the legal rights and duties of the parties”.

For a contract to be valid and binding on the parties, it must have the following important ingredients.
* Offer
* Acceptance
* Consideration
* Intention to enter into legal relations.
From the evidence above in the attached document , it is crystal clear that there was a valid contract between the Federal government of Nigeria and the Niger Delta presidential amnesty students to train them in the clear terms specified in the document.
It is trite law that once an offer has been giving by the promisor to the promisee, and the terms of the agreement has been accepted by the offeree and a consideration is duly furnished, the contract is binding. There is no mistaken of the facts that from the correspondence between these students and the amnesty office, there was a clear intention to enter into legal relations that was vividly contemplated from the beginning to be legally binding on Prof Charles Dokubo and the students. He must be estoppelled from brazenly breaching a contract he entered with students with his two eyes opened for equity not to be defeated in this clear case of oppression and discrimination that can only go unchecked in a lawless country.
The Movement is therefore calling on the students that have signed this document as given to them on behalf of the Federal government under President Mohammadu Buhari to sign by the Special Adviser and Coordinator of the presidential amnesty programme Professor Charles Dokubo to deploy all necessary means to seek redress to correct this injustice and fundamental breach of their constitutional right to freedom from discrimination and dignity to the human person. The Movement is also calling on the entire people of the Niger Delta region not to allow the vindictive actions of Prof Charles Dokubo over his predecessor in office Gen Boroh to prevent these stranded university students from fulfilling their dreams. It is not in the interest of the region or the country for students who have been away from their various communities in the creeks of the Niger Delta to begin to drop out of the programme because they cannot feed themselves, buy textbooks, print assignments and concentrate on their studies. No body should think that a student without any other means of income in strange lands can survive a four to six years course in Nigeria without the provision of the stated support by the government.
The President and the members of the National Assembly and well meaning Nigerians should prevail on Prof Charles Dokubo to honor the terms of this agreement which he signed with the students on their deployment to the various universities. He should not be allowed to go back on his commitment and promises to keep his own part of this agreement. A Professor should not be seen breaching a contract as important as this one which is pivotal to the peace, security and development of the Niger Delta and the entire country.
He should be called to order before things gets out of hands. What he cannot do to his own children, should not be meted out to the students who are equally entitled to quality education as his own.

National Universities Commission gives licence to four new universities

National Universities Commission?gives licence to four new universities
The National Universities Commission (NUC), has given provisional approval to four new private universities to commence academic programmes.

Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, Executive Secretary, NUC at the presentation of the licences to the universities in Abuja on Tuesday, said the four universities had been under scrutiny since 2006. The universities are: Greenfield University, Kaduna State, Dominion University, Ibadan, Trinity University, Laloko, Ogun, and Westland University, Iwo, Osun.

With the approval, Nigeria now has 79 private universities, and a total of 173 universities,
private and public. Rasheed underscored the need to increase the number of universities in the country, taking into consideration the country’s 200 million population.  He added that with the country’s population, only about two million students can access university education.
“Only less than 6 per cent students’ enrolment is in private universities. We hope the NUC work closely with you to ensure we introduce courses that are more attractive to prospective students and more appropriate to our current move to reposition the education system in Nigeria.
All over the world, private initiatives are welcome. Proper education cannot be handled by government alone. The NUC is not ready to sacrifice quality on the altar of access; we must ensure adherence to quality; we do not want to encourage you to run the university with impunity.’’
Rasheed added that the commission was currently processing about 270 applications in which many of them are active for approval.

Cargo volumes in South African ports on the rise PREDICTIONS as...

Cargo volumes in South African ports on the rise

PREDICTIONS as to how last year would end for the port of Durban proved reasonably accurate. Containerized cargo, which always attracts the most attention in the port and for the good reason of Durban having the premier container terminal in sub-Saharan Africa, finished with a throughput of 2.98million TEU (twenty foot container equivalents) – up from the 2.69million in 2017.
Maritime
That’s an increase of 276000 TEU for the year or just over 10%, which will prove very encouraging to Transnet Port Terminals (TPT). Nationally the increase on containers was
5.3% with the total for all ports reaching 4.833million TEU.
Total cargo throughput involving all products for Durban was 83.161million tons, up from the 78.106million tons of 2017 (6.47%). Nationally the figures were 294.29million tons, an increase of 1.33%. on the 290.428million tons in 2017.
The number of ships arriving in our ports continues to decline, although this is not reflective of declining cargo volumes but of the use of much larger ships, in particular container vessels.
Nationally the number of ship calls in South African ports declined to 9202, down from 9821 in 2017. As recently as in 2014 and 2015 the total for all ports was over 12000 ships.
In Durban, the number of ship calls has dropped to 3061 ships with a gross tonnage of 114375272-gt. In 2017 the ship number was 3323 vessel calls while in 2014 it was just on 4 000 vessels.

The port of Richards Bay statistics make an equally interesting study. The port volumes increased to 103.55million tons, up from 99.984million tons in 2017 – an extra 3.566million tons or 3.56%. This was despite the volume of coal being exported through Richards Bay Coal Terminal last year having been 3million tons lower than in 2017 at 73.47million tons. What’s of special interest from this is that the port handled just over 30million tons of cargo over and above coal exported through RBCT.
Some of this would have been coal and other ores through the port’s own bulk terminals – private and TPT managed. Three million tons was in breakbulk – a significant amount in itself and more importantly, almost entirely for export. The balance was in bulk cargo of various commodities including liquid bulk which made up just on 9million tons of that total, again all mainly for export.
Richards Bay can truly be described as an export port and in that sense of great value to South Africa.
Looking briefly at the performance of RBCT where the terminal failed to reach its target of 77million tons – being 4% down on the 2017 figure, this was put down to a weaker global demand, with RBCT management stressing that everything railed to the port was exported.
The number of trains delivering the coal averaged 26 a day, down by one a day in 2017.
The number of trains may not appear so impressive until you consider that each train consists of 200 wagons loaded to a total of 20800 tons and hauled along a 580km route from Mpumalanga province to the port along a double-track electrified line. Despite the occasional problem the coal line is regarded internationally as a world leader among heavy-haul railways.
The coal business unit responsible for the Richards Bay rail operation of Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) accounts for over 60% of all TFR revenue.

OMG : Check Out The Unbelievable Transformation Of A Plus-Size Fast Food Addict (Photos)

Alysha when she was fat
A woman who once tipped the scales at more than 27 stone has managed to shed half her body weight in an incredible transformation.
Alysha NcNair, 21, piled on the pounds while splurging £50 a day on a fast food addiction –
sometimes visiting up to five different takeaways for just one meal.
Alysha tipped the scales at 27 stone at her heaviest
Alysha, from, Canada, wore a size XXXXL as she consumed thousands of calories a day, sometimes double the recommended 2,000 amount in a single meal meal.
She was stuck in a vicious cycle after enduring years of bullying, which left her unwilling to leave the house.
Alysha said: “I’d been overweight since I was a young teenager and after being horrifically bullied for it, I knew it wasn’t always easy to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
"I had even dropped out of school at 14 as I was bullied so bad that I no longer believed I was beautiful, and was never invited out to do things with kids my age.
"I weighed 379lbs [27st] at my heaviest and I felt so ashamed of myself that I barely went outdoors.
"I spent four hours putting make-up on to try and feel better about myself but nothing worked.”
Alysha, 21, is now a gym bunny and encourages others to pursue their goals
Alysha confesses she “ate her emotions”, which caused her weight to balloon.
She said: “I was addicted to eating take away and often I would visit five different fast food restaurants just to complete just one meal.
“I was desperate to change as a teenager due to the horrific bullying but I couldn’t stick to any diets.
"But after choking one day on a fizzy drink at 17-years-old and struggling to catch my breath, I realised it was die or change.
"I was eating my emotions but it wasn’t until I realised my future was in the balance if I didn’t change that I decided to actually do something about it.”
Realising she needed to change, Alysha joined a local gym, cut out fast food and began working out - and the pounds began to drop off.
She said: “I started walking more and began pre-planning my meals rather than relying on fast food for every meal.
"My mum was really worried that I’d die young due to my weight.
"I was over the moon when all my diet changes and exercise began to pay off.
"I’ve now lost 13 stone which is half of my body weight and I have never felt more amazing and I’m now a dress size 14.”
Documenting her incredible transformation online on her Instagram page, Alysha has managed to shed 13 stone – half her bodyweight.
She’s now decided to become a personal trainer, and is a competitive bodybuilder, putting on 30lbs of muscle as she overhauled her physique.
Still determined to reach her goal of weighing less than 14st2lbs, she regularly posts throwback snaps and documents the excess skin she’s been left with as she continues her weight-loss journey.
Alysha said: “It was daunting to upload photos of myself with my stomach out but I felt it was necessary to see how far I’d come.
"I wanted other people who were the same size as me to realise that losing weight is always possible.
"I feel and look completed different now and have decided to become a personal trainer to help others.
"I never buy fast food anymore and feel like I’m competitive body building now.”
Her Instagram page has more than 17k followers, and Alysha regularly shares motivational posts, acknowleding there have been “depressing times” along the way.
She told her followers: “I can’t believe how happy I am every single day, I worked hard for the life I had today.
“I stuck it out when I failed, I knew that if I just gave up I wouldn’t get there.
“I lost 185 pounds struggling the hard way, doing self development, working in every way to gain knowledge.
“There was depressing times and happy times.
“My goal is to help everyone live healthier, happier lifestyles!”

Jussie Smollett Takes To The Stage After Alleged Attack

Everything you need to live well
Hollywood actor and singer, Jussie Smollett has taken to the stage to perform for the first time following the alleged homophobic and racist attack on him as earlier reported.
The “Empire” star who was alleged to have been attacked by two men in Chicago last Tuesday remained undeterred as he took to the stage last night at a Southern California concert.
Addressing the crowd before singing, he said he had to go on with the show because he couldn’t let his attackers win. He said;
“I had to be here tonight. I couldn’t let these motherf*****s win. And above all, I
fought the fuck back,” he said to cheers. Then he paused and said, emphatically but with a laugh: “I’m the gay Tupac.”

No Impeachment Against Ambode, Says Tinubu  Lagos State...

No Impeachment Against Ambode, Says Tinubu  Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode (right), with National Leader, All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu (middle); Party chieftain, Prince Tajudeen Olusi (left); APC Governorship Candidate in Lagos, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu (middle behind); Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa (left behind) and member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Bayo Osinowo (right behind) during the briefing of the Press shortly after the APC leadership meeting at the Government House, Marina, on Sunday, February 3, 2019.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) has said there is no impeachment against Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State.
Tinubu made the declaration after a peace meeting brokered by the APC leadership in the
State to end the rift between the Governor and lawmakers which was held at Lagos House, Marina.
The APC chieftain told newsmen that there is no longer a question of impeachment of the Lagos State Governor.
He said it was gratifying to note that the conflict between the Governor and the members of the State Assembly had been amicably settled.
Tinubu, who spoke on behalf of all the APC leaders in the State, said the executive and the legislative arms of government in the State had resolved to work together in the interest of the State.
He said: “We held a meeting on behalf of Lagos, the entire Lagosians, our party – APC leadership. In the last one week, there has been noise about the conflict between the executive and the State Assembly. It is of great concern to all of us and particularly what Lagos represents across the country.
“We have been able to look into the source of various conflicts which is not uncommon in politics; what is the genesis of those problems? We are one big family and as a big family, you will have some rumples, you will have some disagreement. As leaders of the party, we have looked into that; we have looked into areas where we have to compromise, discuss and build the institutions, encourage the institutions to really do what is right.
“We have resolved there is no question of impeachment in Lagos State. Let the two arms of government communicate and continue to respect one another and build consensus and understanding. That is all about politics. Conflict and conflict resolution mechanism is inbuilt in any political system unless leaders are lacking in their responsibilities.”

Tinubu thanked the Governor, his deputy, Dr Idiat Adebule and the leadership of the House for agreeing to the peaceful resolution of the conflict, saying it was evident that consequences of allowing such conflict to fester would have been dire not just for the State, but the entire country.
“We thank the Speaker and the entire members of the House of Assembly leadership. We thank the Governor and the Deputy Governor who had demonstrated firm respect for the party leadership in Lagos State.
“You know when Lagos sneezes, the rest of the political equation catches cold and we are very happy that we are able to resolve amicably. The Deputy Speaker is also here and all of them put together, we are assured that things will start to run smoothly in Lagos both the House and the government,” he said.
Also speaking, a party chieftain, Prince Tajudeen Olusi corroborated Tinubu’s position, and expressed optimism that the House would soon meet to resolve other grey areas.
“The National Leader (Tinubu) has spoken and mine is just to confirm the decision. Conflict resolution is an essential ingredient of management. We have looked into the problem and the party has directed the two arms of government – the executive and the legislature to work together and very soon, the House will meet and resolve all grey areas,” Olusi said.
The meeting was attended by both the executive and legislative arms represented by Governor Ambode, Deputy Governor, Dr Idiat Adebule; Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa; Deputy Speaker, Wasiu Eshinlokun; Majority Leader, Sinai Agunbiade; Chief Whip, Rotimi Abiru, among other principal officers of the Assembly.
Others in attendance were all the members of the Governors’ Advisory Council (GAC), the highest decision making organ of the party in the State; Governorship candidate of the party in the State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr Femi Hamzat, among others.

WOW : Veteran Actress, Eucharia Anunobi Finally Reveals How She...

WOW : Veteran Actress, Eucharia Anunobi Finally Reveals How She Combines Acting And Preaching

Eucharia Anunobi
Beautiful veteran actress, Eucharia Anunobi, is a talented movie star, filmmaker and pastor. In 1994, Eucharia woke up famous thanks to the movie, ‘Glamour Girls’. Her unclad bathroom scene with Zack Orji caused lots of debates among Nigerians then. She had gone on to star in over 90 movies including, ‘Abuja Connection’. She’s currently an ordained pastor in Lagos. Eucharia, who lost her only child two years ago to sickle cell anaemia, speaks with ABIOLA ALABA PETERS on combining her divine assignment with acting
First of all, what do you say to people who misunderstand you?
One thing I’ve come to realise in this life whether you like it or not, there are people who are called negative minded people. So no matter what you do, they will have their own
preconceived mindset about what you do or your personality. So for me, I don’t mind them because whether you like it or not God exists and Satan has his own people too who propagate evil. So I don’t bother about them. They are behind me. I don’t bother about misconceptions. They are not things I waste my energy on.
Do you mind taking us through some of the challenges you experienced as an actor?
It’s a career that I really love. It’s more of the challenges outside or people’s perception of my roles. When you play a role and you are outside, people tend to think that you are the role that you play. That’s anything I will say is challenging but for my job, I love it and no matter the  upheaval or you know several things that may not be right in the process of acting, they aren’t troubles to me. Rather they are what I call propellers that help me to do my job well. The only thing you know like I said is when you finish acting the role, when people see you outside tend to equate the characters you have played to your personal life which is not true and not right but for me I am fine with that because most times when people see you outside and they say, oh she did that role very well. It means I carried out my duty very well so I am excited.
How has it been combing your calling as a servant of God and career as an actor?
Well I thank God almighty for the strength and the power. I also look at it that God is able to manage all the countries in the world and he has the leadership and the managerial skills to coordinate all the whole affairs; so the same thing is bestowed upon me. The same ability to be able to coordinate affairs of being his preacher, his vessel and also an actor but don’t forget again, I am also a pastor. You find out that you don’t preach every day from morning till night, and then from Sunday to Monday. Being a preacher that people call to preach in different places in the country has a timetable and schedule because when they want me to come preach in their churches either in this country or outside, you know there is a time table. So I work with timetable, same thing with acting. So when a producer or director wants to call you for a job, they ask what your timetable is and with timetable and timing, I’m able to coordinate myself. If I have a preaching engagement in a church, I know how to organize myself that it does not clash with my acting schedule as well. That’s if you learn how to prioritise, learn to manage and then keep them in their right proportion.
What are you working on currently, since it’s a new year?
On my future projects, I don’t talk about it. It’s under wraps. You are pregnant of it. You don’t talk about them until they come to manifestation. Anybody who goes about saying, I want to do this, I want to do that, witches and wizards will come and hijack the ideas. So we don’t talk about future projects, we see them better when they are manifested.
Can you recall your first pay check as an actor?
Oh, that’s a long time ago. My first movie actually was ‘Nneka the Pretty Serpent’. The producer can go check their record. I was paid N30, 000. I played two scenes and that was a lot of money then. I gained fame playing two scenes of ‘Nneka the Pretty Serpent’ by Gabosky production. It’s on their record. I am not like other actors that will come and misquote figures or upgrade figures when they know it’s a lie. So my very first pay as an actor for my first movie was in ‘Nneka the Pretty Serpent’ part 2. I played the role of Ezenwanyi which means the queen and I got N30, 00 for that.
Where do you draw your inspirations from?
Well first and foremost, I will say God is my ultimate inspiration. Why, because His word in the book of Proverbs 18 Verse16 says, ‘the gift of a man makes a way for him and brings him before kings and great men’. Also the book of Matthew 24 when he talks about the servants who are given the talents to multiply them, that story inspired me to use my talent for his kingdom. These timeless words filled with life’s wisdom are my bed rock and has inspired me on how to live the life.
Are you saying your inspiration comes from God’s word?
Of course, yes, God’s word generally inspires me. Look at the story of king David when he was in trouble had to act by disguising and making himself look like he was mad or he was an imbecile to be able to get across. And I looked at these things and I said, oh these are gifts from the almighty God and you can develop and perfect with that. So often when I am working on set, I get my inspiration from God that I need to do the best because God is a creative person. I am doing my work as an actor; his ultimate Spirit comes upon me that I am to make it real. Creativity attracts you know and for me I want to enlarge my coast because it’s been said in the holy book in the Bible that those of us are blessed with gift because every human being is blessed with gift so if you don’t use it properly, you will give account of it. So for me like you asked, God is my great inspiration and then I do not want to be held accountable that I did not use the gift that he gave me while on earth.

Has The Amnesty Office Abandoned Its Beneficiaries In Achievers...

Has The Amnesty Office Abandoned Its Beneficiaries In Achievers University? Image result for Achievers University
The lackadaisical attitude of the Office of the Presidential Amnesty Program, its RM, and their expressions to the amnesty student and the schools are quite alarming.

A recent event in Achievers University, has shown how the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on the Amnesty program handles issues relating to student welfare and this appalling attitude is a far cry from the rules and regulations governing the program.

A number not less than 5 Amnesty Beneficiaries from the President Amnesty Program
where expelled for sending a notice of student welfare to the school authorities.

In the letter, the student wrote that  Achievers University should extend their power supply from 10pm to 5am, instead of the epileptic 7pm to 10pm.
They wrote that  Achievers University should add to the number of water tanks in the hostel to 3 water tanks as opposed to 1 water tank that is presently situated in the hostel.

Achievers University replied the students with expulsion letter and alleged in their reply that the students where asking for 24hrs power supply and  Achievers University said they were threatened by the letter(Notice of Students Welfare) sent by the students.

According to the statement made by another student who wants to stay anonymous, she said
“the said letter was not written by the five students expelled, and that it was a collective decision made by all Amnesty Beneficiaries in  Achievers University and that the signatories to the letter was not among the five students expelled. We have been trying to reach our RM(Onachukwu Joy a.k.a. Chika) to relay this matter to the Amnesty Office but she has not been responding, she would not return our calls/messages. Our suspicion is that she has been bribed by the school not to relate this matter to the Amnesty Office for immediate action.
On  the issue of rejection of the said letter,  Achievers University wanted the students to sign that they are embarking on a protest against the school and that they asked for 24hrs supply which was never in their letter. No officer was assaulted and that claim by  Achievers University was just to ensure that they expelled the students because they came to us the remaining amnesty beneficiaries, saying that they will expel us like they expelled the five students."

The question on the minds of the general public are:
1. Is it not the responsibility of the school to provide portable water and ensure the availability of water for the students?

2. Is power supply not a responsibility the school must provide for the students?

3. Is providing power for students to read and do some ironing not part of the schools responsibility?

4. Are the students not entitle to the above after the huge amount The Federal Government/Amnesty Office paid for their school fees and hostel accommodation?

5. Is the school not supposed to reach out to Amnesty Office since it was the office that sent the students to them?

6. Who did the school call before sending the students on expulsion?

7. What law did the students broke that led to their expulsion?

8. Are the students in question signatories to the said letter (Notice of Students Welfare)?

9. What is Amnesty Office position on the said expulsion?

OMG : ‘Once-in-a-century’ floods hit northeast Australia

This recent undated handout picture provided by the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and received by AFP on February 3, 2019 shows floodwaters as they rush over the Aplins Weir in Townsville after days of torrential rain. Once in a century floods have turned streets into rivers and forced thousands to abandon their homes in northeast Australia, with authorities warning of further downpours over the next few days. Once-in-a-century floods have turned streets into rivers and forced thousands to abandon their homes in northeast Australia, with authorities warning of tornadoes and more rain over
the next few days.
Australia’s tropical north experiences heavy rains during the monsoon season at this time of the year, but the recent downpour has surged far above normal levels.
Thousands of residents in the city of Townsville in Queensland were without power and cut off by flooded roads.
More severe weather could whip up tornadoes and destructive winds in the days ahead, Bureau of Meteorology state manager Bruce Gunn told reporters Sunday.
Up to 20,000 homes are also at risk of being inundated if the rains continue.
Military personnel were delivering tens of thousands of sandbags to affected locals, as Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk warned residents to be careful.
“It’s basically not just a one in 20-year event, it’s a one in 100-year event,” she told reporters Saturday.
The Bureau of Meteorology said a slow-moving monsoonal trough was sitting above Queensland, with some areas expected to receive more than a year’s worth of rain before conditions ease.
Bureau meteorologist Adam Blazak told AFP the heavy downpours could continue until Thursday, while floodwaters would take some time to recede even when the rains lessen.
The region receives an average of some 2,000 millimetres (6.5 feet) of rain annually but some towns were already on track to pass that.
The town of Ingham, north of Townsville, received 506 mm of rain in 24 hours between Saturday and Sunday, of which 145 mm fell in just one hour, Blazak said.
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” Townsville resident Chris Brookehouse told national broadcaster ABC, adding that his house was flooded with water more than one metre deep.
“The volume of water is just incredible. Downstairs is gone, the fridge and freezer are floating. Another five or six steps and upstairs is gone too.”
Blazak said that with adverse weather predicted to continue for up to 72 hours, some regions could see record-breaking levels of rainfall.
There has been a silver lining to the deluge, with drought-stricken farmers in western Queensland welcoming the soaking.
“It is a welcome relief, especially in our western communities, to not only get the rain but also to fill up their dams,” Palaszczuk said Sunday.
“We’re getting food supplies in there. We still have many roads that are cut around those areas.”
The deluge comes amid a severe drought in the eastern inland of the vast Australian continent, including parts of Queensland state, that’s left graziers struggling to stay afloat.
Extreme heatwaves during the southern hemisphere summer have also led to maximum-temperature records being broken in some towns.
High temperatures are not unusual in Australia during its arid southern hemisphere summer, with bushfires a common occurrence.
But climate change has pushed up land and sea temperatures and led to more extremely hot days and severe fire seasons.
In the southern states of Victoria and Tasmania, firefighters in recent days have been battling numerous bushfires threatening homes and communities.
