Bikinis! One-piece Swimsuits Poised for a Takeover

Beyonce wore a Norma Kamali one-piece swimsuit last summer
Dieting and exercising are perhaps the most popular New Years Resolutions, but don't worry if you've indulged on a few too many holiday treats this year. Swimsuits are already trickling onto retail shelves and the spotlight is on one-piece swimwear, not bikinis. Yes, that extra inch to pinch around your tummy can potentially remain hidden all year.

25 Iconic Celebrity Swimsuits

Every stylish celebrity from the curvier gals like Beyonce, Christina Hendricks, and Kim Kardashian, to the skinny-minnies like Taylor Swift, Kate Moss, and Kirsten Dunst are rocking one-piece bathing suits, or "maillots." As a result, the rest of us are heading directly to department stores, boutiques, and affordable mass-market shops to scoop up similar styles. The New York Post found that one-piece swimsuit sales are up around 20 percent in local New York shops. We consulted industry experts to find out why.

Dumbest Facebook Post Ever?

Jacob Cox-Brown's mugshot
An Oregon teenager has landed himself in the county jail for what must be one of the dumbest Facebook gaffes ever: posting about his drunk-driving hit-and-run escapade.

More on Shine: 12-Year-Old Sues Parents After Drunk Driving Car Accident

"Drivin drunk ... classsic ;) but to whoever's vehicle i hit i am sorry. :P" was the early-morning post that quickly led to the at-home arrest of Jacob Cox-Brown in the Oregon-coast city of Astoria, reports the Daily Astorian.

Upon reading Cox-Brown's post, two of the 18-year-old's Facebook friends contacted the Astoria Police Department to report it; it became vital information after two officers responded to a 1am report of a hit-and-run, which left a white Scion plus an adjacent vehicle damaged in their parking spots.

After collecting pieces of the Scion's damaged taillight and bumper cover, the police received tips about the Facebook post and headed over to the home of Cox-Brown. They arrested the young man, charging him with two counts of failing to perform the duties of a driver. (Nearly nine hours had elapsed between the report and the confrontation, and the driver was no longer in his car, Deputy Chief Brad Johnston told Yahoo! Shine, which is why there was no driving-while-intoxicated charge.) He was held in the Clatsop County Jail and released on his own recognizance, and is scheduled to appear in Astoria Municipal Court on January 23.

[marriagerestoration] An Out Of Control Situation!! Jan. 4, 2013 - Doreen's Daily Delights

An Out Of Control Situation!!

Your situation may appear to be out of control, but God is very much in control. He holds the rein.

Your situation may even appear to be taking lots of twists and turn, separation/divorce, etc. Know today that nothing can thwart the plan of God. With all the injustices taking place, God's plan is still in action. Trust Him and lean not to your own understanding.

Today I want to tell you that your situation may not look good in the natural, but God's plan is still in action.

God still holds the rein, even in disobedience. Remember His ways are not our ways. God will use the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. Man's wisdom is God's foolishness.

Consider David. He was chosen by God to be king, yet he spent a long time running and hiding from Saul. The possibility of becoming king was looking pretty slim for a while there.

Joseph was sold as a slave by his brothers, accused of attempted rape, thrown in prison and forgotten for a few years by those who could have helped him get out of prison. But God didn't forget him. God was getting Joseph ready for a major task.

Job lost everything. He lost his business, his workers, his family, and his health. Job's anguish was so bad that he said his days were without hope (Job 7:6) and he despised his life. (Job 9:21)

God never told Job why he had to suffer so much. He never explained to Job the challenge Satan came to God with.

Yet his story was recorded in the Bible and countless numbers of people have been helped by Job's story. God ways are not man's ways.

There are others in the Bible whose lives seemed to take many twists and turns away from God's plan, when in truth, God was in control the whole time. His plan was still in action.

Your situation may be looking bad in the natural, but trust the Lord anyhow. His ways are different and He is very much in control.

Know that I am praying and interceding on your behalf daily. For those who are supporting me in this quest, thanks very much. I continue to pray and intercede on your behalf.

2 Cor. 9:10 ...may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness..." Blessings, you are appreciated.

[marriagerestoration] Greater Is He Who Is In You!! Jan. 3, 2013 - Doreen's Daily Delights

Greater Is He Who Is In You!!

Look at your marriage problem as a Goliath in your life. Be like a
David, you will defeat the enemy. Don't fear. Our Mighty Awesome God
WILL, WILL, WILL, come through for you. No matter what the situation
is, God will come through for you.

If it looks BAD, IMPOSSIBLE, UNFIXABLE, DISTASTEROUS, DEAD, these are
things our God specializes in. Let it be bad, God can fix it. Let it
seem like it is impossible, yes, He can fix it. Let it seem unfixable
or disastrous, these too, He can fix. Friends, NOTHING, NOTHING,
NOTHING, NOTHING, is hard for God. Believe this - NOTHING, NOTHING
IS HARD FOR GOD. He will do it for you. Don't worry about it. Give
it to Him.

Believe God can change it. All things work together for good. God
can use bad things and turn it into good. Believe this.

Listen to David talking to his Goliath.

"David said to the Philistine, "You come against me with sword and
spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD
Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied."
(1 Samuel 17:45). David puts into practice several sound biblical
principles when he faced one of the biggest challenges of his life -
Goliath.

These principles are effective for all of God's servants: Recall past
victories: David immediately recounted his victories as a shepherd
when he defeated attacking lions and bears. Recounting those times
when the Lord has come to your aid will fortify you for your present
challenge.

Reexamine and reaffirm your motivations: David's love and devotion
to the Lord and defense of His name superseded any of man's paltry
rewards. We must be ever-vigilant to gauge our true motivations.

Reject discouragement from others: Don't listen to your friends or
relatives, telling you to go on with your life or to "move on."
Listen to your Creator. Don't listen to the created.

David did not listen to his older brothers or even King Saul. He
listened to the Lord's voice. Well-meaning people sometimes can
quench your faith if you heed the wrong voices. Recognize the true
nature of the battle: God is involved in every aspect of the
believer's life. This means that everything is spiritual in our
lives - everything that touches us MUST COME THROUGH GOD FIRST.
Think back on Job. The devil had to consult with God FIRST.

Rely upon God's power for victory: From the beginning, David
proclaimed that the battle was the Lord's. This isn't "psyching
yourself up." It simply means that you trust the Lord so much that
the victory already is decided in your mind. It is a settled issue.
IT IS SETTLED! VICTORY IS SETTLED!

We are on the winning side. God has NEVER lost a battle. Trust Him
to heal and restore your marriage. TRUST HIM, TRUST HIM. DON'T
DOUBT. TO DOUBT IS A SIN. Believe that the Creator will do this for
you. Come what may, trust Him to do it for you.

Mighty God, Mighty God, Mighty God, Bless your people today, bless
them. Whoever is reading this encouragement today, bless them and
heal their hearts. Give them wisdom, knowledge and understanding,
give them peace. Minister unto them and help them not to worry about
their situation because it is in YOUR hands. Jesus, My Sweet Jesus.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
Jesus, Jesus, we cry out to you today, Dear Jesus. Heal and restore this marriage. Is anything too hard for You?

Dunni Bonds with her Father

One of my action plans this year is to complete this WIP and if possible publish it this year. So again I bring what I've written so far for you guys to help me critique as we go. You can catch up by reading the previous instalments HERE. Thanks!
Dunni set the tray of Amala and Ewedu on the dining table and opened the ceramic dishes her mother had asked her to serve the food. The steam from the recently microwaved food filled the small room with the smell of the palm oil sauce and it wasn’t long before her father moved from the sitting room to the table.

“I hope your appetite is good this afternoon?” she asked.

He smiled at her as he sat and washed his hand in the basin of water she’d already set out.

“This ewedu is very fresh, I like that,” he said, smiling at her as he put his fingers into the sauce and after rooting around, pushed a piece of fish in his mouth.

Dunni pulled out an empty seat and sat the table, watching him roll the amala between his fingers before dipping it in the dark sauce.

“Are you not eating?” He asked.

“No, papa. I’m not hungry now.” Also, her father loved to eat Ewedu daily while Dunni could

Nigeria Idol: The Auditions Are Over, Meet the Top 90

After months of intense searching, the curtains have drawn on the first phase of Nigeria’s biggest music reality show, Nigerian Idol. The last two days of auditions saw the show hit the bottomless talent pools of Benin city and Lagos giving fans some of the most exciting auditions of the show yet. And now auditions are over, the tension is building as Idol moves to the next stage of the competition that is always make or break for many hopefuls—the elimination rounds.
“The competition is beginning to unfold as the best of the lot go head to head,” said Tiwa Medubi, the Nigerian Idol project manager. “The grit and tenacity that the contestants show is unbelievable and you cannot help but watch to see what happens next. These contestants leave absolutely nothing to chance; they believe that they are the next Nigerian Idol and it is just spectacular to watch and listen to them all give it their best shot.”
With penultimate stop at Benin, the Nigerian Idol judges were more than pleasantly surprised with the first contestant of the day, 26-year-old student Emmanuel Egbo with his rendition of R. Kelly’s ‘

AC Milan have no plans to make a move for Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli

Mario Balotelli: Not considered to be a January transfer target for AC Milan AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has ruled out a January raid for Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli.

Milan have been linked with a move for the Italy international for some time, with speculation first surfacing shortly after Balotelli left the Rossoneri's arch-rivals Inter for England.
Berlusconi has spoken positively of the fiery frontman in the past, suggesting he would be open to the prospect of taking Balotelli back to Serie A.
He has now altered that stance, claiming the 22-year-old would bring too much baggage with him to justify a sizeable transfer fee.
Berlusconi told Radio Radio: "Balotelli, as I have said on other occasions, doesn't convince me as a man."
With Balotelli seemingly out of the picture, Berlusconi has also responded to reports linking Milan with approaches for a number of other strikers - including Roma's Mattia Destro and Pablo Osvaldo and former Chelsea forward Didier Drogba, who is now turning out for Shanghai Shenhua.
He added: "Destro and Osvaldo? I would certainly take Destro at Milan, while Osvaldo does not fit within the age parameters we have set out to build a young team.
"The same goes for Drogba. He is 34 and would not fit in with our young player approach."

[marriagerestoration] Your Strength Lies in The Lord - Jan. 2, 2013 - Doreen's Daily Delights

Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

What are you facing today? Whatever you are going through, God is your refuge and strength. He is ever present with you and will never leave or forwsake you. Have no fear – No matter what happens in your family God is with you. God is reminding us to be still and know that He is God and know that He is in control and know that He will provide and He will make a way even when there seems to be no way.

Today I say to those who are trying to do it their way, take your hands off. Give God total control, because He is your refuge and strength.

When we give God total control of our situation, even when we are surrounded by chaos, we will not be flustered, we will not be moved under every undesirable circumstance.

Whatever may happen around us or however much we may be provoked, we accept it all calmly and exhibit an unmovable nature. When we give God total control, we are able to regulate our every feeling, because our emotion has been yielded to the cross and our will and spirit are permeated with the power of the Holy Spirit.

When we give God total control, no extreme provocation has the strength to unsettle us. But if we do not give God total control, then we will be easily influenced, stimulated, disturbed, and even governed by what is happening around us in our situation.

If we take matters into our own hand, we will undergo constant change, for emotion shifts often. The slightest threat from outside will have us worried and troubled and render us helpless. God is our very present help.

Can we change our situation? We cannot. but God can. "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" (Psalm 46:10).

Today I pray that we hold on to the promises of God. We are weak, but He is strong. Truly, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help. May we appreciate this glorious refuge, and through faithfulness to Him avail ourselves of the protection which it offers.

I want to thank those who have been assisting me in this quest for the healing of marriages. Without your prayers and financial support, there is no way I would be able to encourage and minister to many. I thank God daily for your obedience and faithfulness.

This Ministry is 501(c)(3) certified by IRS and your gift is qualified for tax deductions. Thanks for your faithfulness.

[marriagerestoration] God is Able!! Jan. 1, 2013 - Doreen's Daily Delightsþ

Happy new year!!!

God is able!!

"For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen,
to the glory of God through us." (2 Cor 1:20)

How often do we claim God's promises as our own, only to be bitterly
disappointed that what we've been promised doesn't come to pass when
and how we think it should?

And how often are we tempted to believe that God doesn't care about
us, or He doesn't care about our situation, or He doesn't keep His
promises, or that He's mad at us for something. And how many times have we been tempted to think something like this: "God must not be powerful enough to bring about MY miracle!"

Whatever is your situation, you can trust God to bring it to pass.
Your marriage may be sick and needs healing and restoration, but God
is reliable and can be trusted to do this. God can bring this to pass.

You may find it difficult to believe the promise that was once so
alive in your heart. You may even be tempted to give in to the
pressure and let go of the promises of God. But God wants you to
hold on. Hold on my sister, hold on my brother, Don't give up on God.

Here is some great news: neither God nor His promise are weakened by
trials, and if you have loosened your grip on what God has promised
you, you can still go forward with Him. God says in His word: "For
all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the
glory of God through us." (2 Cor 1:20)

The Bible says, even when we are unfaithful God remains faithful, for
He cannot Deny himself. The Bible says this about God's faithfulness:

God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our
Lord, is faithful. 1 Corinthians 1:19

God is faithful to His promises and can be trusted. God has a good
character. Here is a God who has stood by His people when they were
unworthy. A God who has blessed the Israelites far beyond their
merit. A God who sent His own Son into the world to demonstrate His
love, and then allowed His Son to die. This is a priceless gift.

This is the God who demonstrated love to the unlovely, who listened
to those whose need was great. A God whose character is
unquestionable.

God's promises are reliable. God's promises are real, and they are
ours to receive. God will do His part, all we have to do is give Him
our hearts and entrust our souls to a faithful Creator in doing what
is right. He keeps His promises, ALWAYS!

No matter what is happening (or not happening) in your life, God's
promises are reliable and can be trusted.

I would like to thank those who have been assisting this ministry financially in the quest to healing hurting marriages. Without your prayers and financial support, there is no way I would be able to encourage and minister to so many. I thank God daily for your obedience and faithfulness. And I pray that more of you will start showing your support.

This Ministry is 501(c)(3) certified by IRS and your gift is qualified for tax deductions. Thanks for your faithfulness.

Be encouraged
