Obama Pushes #NetNeutrality Campaign To Keep The Internet Open & Free

#NetNeutrality is President Obama taking a stand to keep the internet open and free, and starting an online campaign with the now viral hashtag to tell the FCC to support his plan. So what really is Net Neutrality?
According to Wiki, "Net neutrality (also network neutrality or Internet neutrality) is the principle that Internet service providers and governments should treat all data on the Internet equally, not discriminating or charging differentially by user, content, site, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or mode of communication."

If that gives you a headache, consider it simply like this. It means that providers like COMCAST cannot make the internet faster for those who pay more, or toll you to visit certain sites. It means the FCC will regulate the internet like a utility, just like water and power.

So why is net neutrality an issue?

Because some big broadband companies are wooing services like YouTube and Netflix to pay for faster access. If these companies could charge big customers for faster service, who says they won't slow things down for smaller customers like me and RML?
