The pressure on President Goodluck Jonathan with regards to the sack of resident doctors and suspension of the training has paid off.
The Federal Government has lifted the suspension of Residency Training Programme in federal hospitals effective Thursday August 28, while the ongoing appraisal of the programme continues.
Consequently, the FG has also reinstated all resident doctors that were disengaged as a result of the ill-advised suspension with effect from the same date. All Chief Medical Directors and Medical Directors of the training centres are directed to issue letters of reinstatement to the resident doctors to enable them resume work immediately.
