As part of the efforts by the Federal Government to boost research and development in the military, the Nigerian Army has made a giant stride in the manufacture of the first indigenous Armoured Personnel Carrier, code named “IGIRIGI”
This was disclosed by the Defence Minister of State, Erelu Olusola Obada at the ongoing Ministerial scorecard presentation at the National Press Centre,
Abuja.
The Minister also stated that this innovation which has been achieved with over 40% local content showcases the ingenuity of Nigerian engineers who were also at work on other military projects.
