By God's Design!!
Genesis 50:20 "You meant evil against me; but God meant it for good,
in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people
alive"
God is able to make all things right. No matter how hopeless or
futile a situation may be. If we understand this scripture we
understand that God is able to take even the worst details of the
worst situation and turn it into abounding grace.
The Bible is filled with stories that confirm this and should give us
cause to rest in God's hands. My favorite story is that of Joseph.
Here is a man who was sold into slavery by his brothers, through
faithful service was placed in a position of authority in the House
of Potiphar, wrongly accused by Potiphar's wife and thrown into
prison. Forgotten in prison, then finally brought before Pharaoh and
made second in command of all of Egypt.
Through all this, God's sovereign plan was to provide a way of
deliverance for Israel during the time of famine. And Joseph
recognized this. His words to his brothers reveal this as he tells
them, "What you meant for evil, God meant for good."
Time after time, the Bible records hopeless situations that
ultimately ended in victory. In your situation, God is able to
reverse evil and turn it to good. God is able to make what's wrong
right. God is able to open every closed doors. God is able to make
every crooked path straight. He is able to open your "Red Sea." He is
able to make a way where there is no way.
Think of Job's sickness, David's adultery, and the many who were
healed in mind, body, and spirit. But Joseph told them,"
You meant
evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it
about as it is this day, to save many people alive" (Genesis 50:20).
Joseph is one of the true heroes of the faith. He was treated very
unfairly and unkindly by his brothers. Although evil was done
against Joseph, God turned his situation around for the saving of
lives.
Even while you go through this situation in your marriage, God will
turn it around for your good. If you are struggling to see God's hand
in your life, be encouraged. Joseph had his fair share of challenges,
too. In the end, it became evident that through all the challenges and
less than desirable circumstances Joseph faced, God was working to
fulfill His purposes. What was meant for evil, God turned around for
good.
God develops us on a progressive basis. There are times I have wished
He would speed up the process in healing and restoring marriages;
but I have come to rest and trust in His timing. Now I ask Him to
give us the grace to accomplish His destiny for our lives, no matter
how long it takes! Wait my friends, wait and put your confidence in
the Lord.
God intended and planned for this to happen, because God is in
control of ALL things. God is sovereign over ALL things. And in times
of trial, this gives us great reason to trust God during trying
circumstances.
No matter what's your circumstances, no matter how difficult and
painful, there is a way to look "through" the problems and "see
God." What was meant for evil in your situation, God will make good.
Believe this.
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love
God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." (Romans
8:28)
