Two of the most prolific strikers in the world

 

Manchester United and Real Madrid will clash in the second round knockout stage of this season’s Champions League after the draw was held in Nyon, Switzerland.

The tie will represent the first time Cristiano Ronaldo will visit the club where he developed into a fearsome attacker since his world record transfer almost four years ago.

The draw also threw up other exciting clashes but it is the renewal of the rivalry between Jose Mourinho’s floundering Real Madrid and Sir Alex Ferguson that will be the cynosure of all eyes when the next round starts next year.

AC Milan will face favorites Barcelona and their record breaking, multiple world footballer of the year, Lionel Messi.

Arsenal will have their work cut out against last year’s finalists Bayern Munich considering the impressive form of the Germans this season.

Arsenal manager will be hoping that his team can overcome their current slump before the tie comes around with the transfer window affording him an opportunity to strengthen before the game.

Galatasaray face Schalke, Shaktar Donetsk come up against Borussia Dortmund, two times winners FC Porto face a tricky tie against an impressive Malaga team whilst Valencia will host Paris Saint Germain.

Scottish champions Celtic face a difficult task with Italian champions Juventus visiting Parkhead, which has already overseen the demise of Barcelona in the first round.
