God Has A Role In Your Situation!!
I can remember during my separation, I didn't fully trust God to heal
and restore my marriage. I would try to make it my role to restore my
marriage through deception and other means.
During those days I was intent on taking over God's roles! I have received numerous emails from some of you who are trying to take over God's role to heal and restore your marriage. It is God's role is to heal and restore your marriage. It is our role is to pray for our spouse.
Here are a couple of God's roles:
Our salvation is God's roles. We cannot earn our salvation or His
love: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and
this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so
that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Praying about this situation in your marriage is your role. We should not be anxious about the present situation. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (Philippians 4:6).
Praying for our spouse, family and friends, and sharing the Gospel
with them are our responsibilities. Saving them is God's
responsibility.
Once we have prayed to God and believe for healing and restoration, we need to leave it with God, which is not easy!
"Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also
supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest
of your righteousness." (2 Corinthians 9:10).
Yes, you can pray for your spouse while he/she is living in a life of
sin, but you cannot force them into righteousness. God, however, CAN
do this. Remember, God can do ANYTHING. Healing and restoration is
God's role. Is anything too hard for God?
Speaking the truth in love, to people who are on the wrong paths, is
our responsibility. Changing those people is God's and their
responsibilities.
So my friends, let us leave healing and restoration to God. There is
nothing too hard for God. We serve a faithful God. He will restore
your family in His perfect timing. We cannot set a timetable for
God. We cannot intimidate God. Believe, trust and have faith in
God. He will do it for you. Trust Him!!
Dear Lord, may we always be diligent to do our part, but may we also
be careful to not do Your part. Give us discernment and strength to
know the differences, and to follow Your will in this always. At the
same time Lord, I pray you will stop this pain. This pain can be so
unbearable at times, I ask you for Your peace, Your peace that
passeth all understanding. I pray Lord that you will prepare me for
healing and restoration. Change me and renew my heart. Put me at
that place where I will be contented in my situation until healing
and restoration comes in Jesus' name, Amen.
I pray and intercede for each of you daily. Thanks very much in advance for your support.
