John 20:29 "Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
Many times, in my life, I have acted like the disciple Thomas. I would ask the Lord, "God I know your promises are there for me…but can you please give me a sign to let me know that the promise is on its way?" Jesus might have smiled and said the verse "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed".
Thomas was not there when Jesus first appeared to the disciples. But as soon as they saw Thomas, they said, "We have seen the Lord". But Thomas could not believe them. So he said, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."
Believe that the Lord will heal and restore your marriage. He will give you the desires of your heart. He will not give you more that you can bear. He will not put you to shame. He will turn your mourning into dancing. He will heal and restore your marriage in His perfect Timing.
"This is what the Lord says: "Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded," declares the Lord. "They will return from the land of the enemy. So there is hope for your future," declares the Lord..." (Jeremiah 31:16-17).
"I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow." (Jeremiah 31:13).
"Just as I watched over them to uproot and tear down, and to overthrow, destroy and bring disaster, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, declares the Lord." (Jeremiah 31:28).
I know many times we want to see signs and evidence before we choose to believe that God will heal and restore your marriage and bring our spouse back. We need to trust the Lord without asking for any signs.
We need to believe that God can change this seemingly impossible situation. We need to believe without any signs that there is NOTHING hard for God.
God has already proven Himself. When we read the Bible and see those miracles that the Lord had performed, what more signs and evidence do we need to see that there is NOTHING hard or IMPOSSIBLE for God?
The Lord says, blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Let us not diminish it by wishing to see evidence we can believe by pining for some imaginary voice, or vision, or revelation.
With men, it is a good rule to try first, and then to trust; with God it is contrary. I will first trust Him, as most wise, omnipotent, merciful, and try Him afterwards.
Faith makes invisible things visible, absent things present, things that are very far off to be very near unto the soul.
"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." (Matthew 21:22).
"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved - you and your household." (Acts 16:31).
Lord, I pray that You will help your people to believe and not doubt. Lord, increase their faith and remove any fear that is coming against them. Thank You that the battle is Yours, not theirs, to fight. Lord, we know that Your Purpose will prevail in Your Timing.
