that was supposed to be on how to become an "Internet millionaire."
About 200 people were in the ballroom, who I would guess
were not very technical.
Most of them were over 55 and a large majority were
probably close to 70 or maybe even 80.
A sales representative began to explain what the expert
does and teaches.
The expert wasn't actually there.
Through his presentation, he asked us to raise our hand
if we knew about or were active online in different ways,
such as blogging, social media and earning money with
our own Web sites.
I was the ONLY person in the room who was familiar with
everything he mentioned.
Then he began to explain their system. But... what their
expert teaches is so complicated, the normal everyday
person couldn't do.
I have many friends who do what he was explaining but
I couldn't even do it.
And ... he didn't even mention the costs of doing business
with that system.
I left there disappointed and grieved in my spirit.
But as I was driving home, I was also encouraged that the
experts God has put into my life do and teach things that
ANYBODY can do.
In fact, the friends I have in the Internet world actually simplify
complicated things by writing their own software and creating
their own programs.
The people God has put me in the middle of are the real deal.
They are good-natured people like me who love their families
and make money at home doing what they love.
Here are some examples:
*SOC saves moms time and money by letting them design
their greeting cards on their computers with their pictures and
words in their spare time, then printing and mailing the cards
for them. You can even add gifts.
*Social media can be accessed from your cell phone to connect
with friends or drive traffic to your sites.
*You can buy or sell a house online in a heartbeat.
*WordPress has simplified Web sites. (And next week, I
will introduce you to one of the top experts in the software
world to show you just how simple this has gotten.)
It's easier than ever to create $ out of thin air if you have a
laptop that you can take with you and an Internet connection.
There's no reason to make it hard.
That's why I have invited the Internet experts I've met through
the years to one place where you can learn from them all at
once and choose the thing or things that will work for you.
Sure, you can do anything for a year or two to make money.
But what are you called to do?
What are your gifts and talents that are not being developed
or used for God's glory because your time is consumed by
a dead-end job that never seems to cover your needs?
I don't like the one-size-fits-all model for anything. When I look
at the wild flowers in my front field, I see variety and color.
That's what I wanted to help those people last night at that
meeting find their own thing.
That's what I want to help you find.
