Psalms 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Waiting for the Lord is not easy. Our heart is often crying out in agony. We feel oppressed and constrained. We yearn for freedom and provision. Waiting upon the Lord for a needed breakthrough is one common area in which He trains us. We have to be needy so that we are forced to look to the Lord for help. Our other resources are stripped away.
In this verse of scripture, this is what the Lord is saying, He is saying we should persevere and wait upon Him. He is the Only One who can deliver. We must wait upon Him. Sometimes He is quick to respond to our cries for help but it has been my experience that He often waits until the last minute.
A reasonable question then is "Why must we wait on God?" After all, He is the God who needs only speak and it happens. Nothing is impossible for Him.
Psalm 31:15 "I wait for You, O LORD; You will answer, O Lord my God" (Psalm 38:15). "Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD" (Psalm 27:14). "My times are in Your hands"
If we live by confidence in our own resources and abilities, will we not become self-confident? What glory does that bring to God?! But through this process, God enables us to depend upon Him so that we know it is only He who does wonderful things in our lives.
Ultimately then, waiting upon God protects us, deepens our trust in Him, forces us to seek His ways and brings Him the most glory. They are times the Lord is testing whether we are really seeking Him and His ways.
God has a divine purpose for allowing you to go through what you are going through right now. Yes, it may seem painful, hard, and stressful, but God has a good plan for your life.
You may feel like you are being pushed to the limit and you cannot take it anymore. Nevertheless, trust in God and you will come through as fine gold. For God who has brought you to it will surely bring you through it.
There are some things in life you yourself just can't change or fix, only God can. These are times when you have two choices. You can either make matters worse by taking matters into your own hands or wait on God for the remedy.
His way will always be the right way. He understands that trusting in Him completely and doing it His way takes courage.
The Apostle Paul said in Romans 4:21 "And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform."
God is able to do the impossible with man. The Lord is able to reconcile bad marriages. Waiting upon God is exercising confidence in God's timing and help during difficult times.
As always, I pray and intercede on your behalf daily. Many have not been supporting but I continue to pray that they will see it in their heart to assist in some small way. Thanks very much in advance for your support. Your prayers and kind thoughts are appreciated.
