I found this citation: Yakovlev NN - (1974) Biochemistry of Sport.
(Barth, Leipzig) in an article of Viru.
And if my memory serves me well, in some cases this East-German editor
also made an English translation (next to the German one).

There are actually different editions, from 1967, 1970 and 1973. All copies
are in German.

The following copies of Biochemie des Sports are in German Universities and
you might be able to get them through an interlibrary loan.

Sportbiochemie instead can be found in a few US and Canadian universities
(still German language):
