Nigerian troops finally clear Mubi of terrorists, seek civilian Cooperation
The Nigerian Troops have completed the operation to clear Mubi, Adamawa State of terrorists who had mischievously renamed the town ‘Madina’ and operated in the town and the environs. A mop-up operation is nevertheless ongoing to apprehend and deal with those who might be lurking around neighbouring communities.
Members of the terrorists group were dislodged after coordinated air and land operations in the area.
More special troops are being deployed to other areas in the North-East axis in similar coordinated air and land operations to rid the communities of terrorists’ activities.
A top military officer told PRNigeria that that desperate terrorists looking for escape routes may wreak havoc on soft-targets in neighbouring communities that are not affected in the military operation. He said: “In their attempts to escape the intensity of military offensives, desperate terrorists have resorted to attacking soft-target in neighbouring communities.
The officer acknowledged improved understanding of the communities on the military operation but seek for more supports from the civilian population in identifying and exposing members of terrorists group. “The people must be courageous and brave enough in identifying the terrorists that are mostly known to the locals to enable the military curtail the excesses of the insurgents. “We are working assiduously to also tackle activities of moles, some very young who spy for terrorists and invite them for invasion of communities. We need the cooperation of the residents,” he concluded.

“Why marriages are no longer working in Nigeria’ Seun Kuti breaks it down
“I don’t believe in marriage. The truth is, the marriage institution in Nigeria has collapsed. Nobody is getting married for long anymore. On the average, it’s within a year. Although they still marry, they separate. The thing responsible for it is that people get married for the wrong reasons. As a matter of fact, the institution of marriage is fading away in the traditional sense of marriage – for love; for better or worse; and all sort. It’s fading because women are no longer submissive.
For you to live together with someone for life, someone must be submissive. That is easier when women are not working, and they depend on their husband. But now, its becoming difficult because they are working; making more money even more than the men. The situation is terrible. Even if you as a man is not looking outside, your wife will look.
I’ve made a decision and my partner already agreed. In fact there was a wedding we went attended in Ibadan, the couple broke up at the reception. Because of picture, the bride’s father wanted to take first, the groom’s father said No and they started quarreling. The couple broke up at the reception. How about that?
About my father marrying 27 wives, if you look deep, you will discover that in 1986 my father divorced all his wives. People seem to forget this fact. It also goes to buttress my point that says marriage is becoming a fading institution. Fela was the epitome of marriage. First, he married one woman, then he married 26 at once. He has experienced both, and later he came out to say marriage is bad. What about that?” He said

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reportedly ruled out Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola as a running mate to the party’s presidential candidate, because of his religion.
A “highly placed” source in the party reportedly revealed this to Punch.
Because Fashola is a Muslim, he is ineligible for the running mate position, as the party will probably have a Muslim as presidential candidate. APC is said to be determined not to have a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Kim and Kanye are divorcing? I hear!
Choi. Another day, another Kim and Kanye are divorcing report. This one from MediaTakeOut.com
We told you weeks ago that Kim and Kanye were divorcing – and now it’s happening. This is a MediaTakeOut.com exclusive report!
People were wondering how long it would be before Kim and Kanye got divorced, well you’re not going to have to wait long for answers. MTO broke the news a few weeks ago, that Kim was spotted inside the office of popular divorce attorney Laura Wasser.
And this weekend – it’s UNDENIABLE that Kim and Kanye are headed for a SEPARATION. Here’s what we know, according to the NY POST, Kanye did NOT spend Thanksgiving with Kim, her family, OR HIS DAUGHTER. Yeezy ran off to Paris:
Kanye West skipped a family Thanksgiving with the Kardashians.
The rapper — without Kim and baby North — was spotted dining at Ralph Lauren’s restaurant in Paris with two male friends Thursday.
Meanwhile, Kim was in LA with the whole Kardashian Klan at Khloé’s house.
What man doesn’t spend THANKSGIVING with his family, huh???? All you folks that DOUBTED our reporting, can you please ANSWER THAT.
But it gets even worse, it’s clear that Kim is DONE WITH KANYE’S N*TCH AZZ. She tweeted out on Thursday night, “I’m so thankful to have spent the day with my whole family . . . Khloé cooked so much yummy food!.” Since Kanye did NOT spend the day with her, that means she no longer considers him family.
What was the straw that broke the camels’ back? Well MediaTakeout.com’s insider tells us that Kanye was “upset” about Kim K’s latest trip to Dubai. He suspects that there could have been FUNNY BUSINESS involved during the trip.
Kim Kardashian has been DROPPING MAJOR HINTS that her relationship with Kanye is ON THE ROCKS. Her latest . . . talking about how her DAUGHTER is her best friend . . . and leaving Kanye OUT THE PICTURE!!
Read about Ladi Kwali: The woman on the N20 note
Nigeria’s best known potter who was awarded a Doctorate and was made MBE in 1963 for the level of detail and skill she utilized while making her pots.
Ladi Dosei Kwali (1925-1983) popularly known as Dr Ladi Kwali was born in 1925 in Kwali town in the present Federal Capital Territory, Abuja,Nigeria.
Probably she is the best known of the Abuja potters. Making pots was women’s work in Kwali and the entire Gwari villages, therefore Ladi came to Abuja (the then Suleja) with knowledge of traditional Gwari pottery.
She did not at first take to the idea of using wheels and kilns and the other paraphernalia of the European potter, but proved to have a natural ability to throw. She was picked from her traditional home Kwali to the then Abuja the present Suleja because of her natural ability in making pots.
The Abuja Pottery Training Centre was established 1950 by an English potter, Michael Cardew, who was sent to the Abuja area by the then colonial government, ostensibly to improve the quality of local work. But he found himself, for the next 15 years, in a symbiotic working relationship with local potters, in which he taught and was taught by potters like Ladi Kwali.
While Cardew introduced wheels and kilns to the centre, he also learnt about traditional firing methods and ornamentation. Kwali on the other hand, was initially reluctant to adapt to the wheel, preferring the spiralled coil method of building pots. She however, discovered she had a natural flair for the wheel. Cardew encouraged her to decorate her work, something she had not done before, and he even fired some of her traditional work in the Abuja kiln.
Ladi was later to become a very popular member of the touring lecture team; her easy nature and ability to communicate made her well liked and appreciated in Europe, Britain and America. She became Nigeria’s best known potter and has been honoured in many ways; she was given a doctorate.
By the time she died in 1983, Dr Ladi Kwali was Nigeria’s best known potter. She left a rich legacy of her work and a school of ‘students’ who picked up from where she left at the Abuja Pottery Training Centre. Over the next decade, her ornamentation skills became more sophisticated, and probably because of improved firing methods, she had the opportunity to exhibit her work in Europe in 1958, 1959 and 1962.
Her pottery was also displayed during Nigeria’s independence celebrations in 1960. Dr Ladi Kwali remained associated with the Abuja pottery works till she died. She gave lectures and demonstrations at home and abroad on her craft throughout her career.
