God Who Never Fails
"He who promised is faithful" (Heb. 10:23).
God's promises can give us hope in hopeless situations. Psalm 119:49-51 NLT says: "Remember your promise to me, for it is my only hope. Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles."
If you are going through a trial, meditating on faith-building promises can give you the strength and hope you need to keep going when you would otherwise quit and give up.
God is not a man, that he should lie, Neither the son of man, that he should repent; Hath he said, and he will not do it? Or hath he spoken, and will he not make it good? (Numbers 23:19).
Even in our circumstances, God in His sovereign purposes may allow us to go through times of difficulty because He knows that trials can produce in us great character and perseverance (James 1:2-4).
The enemy wants us to believe, however, that our suffering is an indication that God is no longer faithful. He wants us to think that God doesn't care, that God doesn't know, or that God wants to make our lives miserable. His objective is to shift our allegiance from God to him, which we do when we turn our back upon God in bitterness and disappointment.
We have a hope that is based on the trustworthy promises of God. Our future is secure. God has always proven Himself to be as good as His word.
The Psalmist's statement is true of everything God has ever purposed: "The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations" (Psa. 33:11).
Through Isaiah, God declared, "I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying 'My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure,' . . . Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I will also do it" (Isa. 46:9-11).
Today I want to tell you that God has no failure. He wins all the time. When you are trusting God, you are in a win win situation. God has given us reason to be assured that though the world around us passes through change after troublesome change, He is still the eternal Sovereign whose purpose for His creation will not fail to be accomplished.
"He who promised is faithful" (Heb. 10:23). Gal. 6:9 says, "Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart."
