[marriagerestoration] Keeping Our Eyes on The Lord!! Dec. 2, 2012 - Doreen's Daily Delights

Know that I am praying and standing with each of you. To the very few who support this Ministry, thanks, thanks and many thanks. The seeds you have planted, you will receive a thousand fold harvest. This is good ground and God is no man's debtor. Again, many thanks to you.

To all those who would write me to encourage me, showing me their appreciation. Many thanks to you. I am most grateful for your thoughtfulness.

Keeping Our Eyes on The Lord!!

(Psalms 91:14-16 NKJV) "Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him
on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation."

Focusing on the Lord after a family break-up is not always easy. Thoughts are racing through the mind, there is a great deal of anxiety, there is much confusion and distraction and frankly, you do not feel very spiritual at that moment in time.

But this is when it is crucial to stop everything, step back to get a more objective view of the circumstance and then begin to follow the principles that God has revealed in His word.

However, as believers, we are to proceed with a faith-perspective and not in response to what we see with our physical eyes (2 Corinthians 5:7). There is a call on our lives to look at the right things, to see things according to the Spirit, and to trust in God no matter what the circumstance may be.

The Apostle Paul was highly effective despite HUGE challenges and trials. This was his perspective: "For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

In other words, the struggles and the trials of life aren't worthy to compare with what lies ahead for us in eternity with God! In a lot of ways Heaven is going to be Heaven because of how it compares to what you came through here. That ought to encourage you when you are going through struggles!

If we get preoccupied with what we see, we won't step out in what we are to do. But, by the grace of God, we will press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14).

Philippians 4:6-7 - Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The solution to discouragement, fretting, and worrying, is to give them all to the Lord in prayer, trusting in Him to answer them according to His perfect will.

Jesus went through the same types of trials and temptations that we all face, and therefore can sympathize with everything we could ever go through. If we will just cry out to Him in our time of need, He will run to our aid and provide the mercy and grace we need to persevere under this trial.

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Heb. 4:15-16.
