Anti-gay law:A Reply To Chimamanda Adichie's Article.

gay-cartoon

A couple of days back, one of Nigeria's highly rated writer Chimamanda Achidie wrote an article in defense of the gays, saying that the anti-gay law in Nigeria shouldn't be. she insinuated that being gay is an inborn thing, that it is embedded in the genes of whoever has it. anyways, one of the readers disagreed with this and has taken it upon himself to write a reply to Chimamanda through Vanguard Nigeria.
read his reply below;

Rihanna has this thing she does on Instagram where she posts a photo of her #MCM(Man Crush Mondays)..Usually ,she puts up hot guys but to the dismay of fans and critics, she posted the photo above as her MCM ...The striking thing was the fact that the photo was merged with a photo of a leather couch. She received severe backlash with many calling her racist .

I have mademy point. We got to move on with life. That is what makes me different..My vacancy is still there. Nobody is singing my kind of songs. They are scared. They cannot wear my shoe because it is painful. I will always be relevant whether anybody likes it or not. If what happened to me when  former President Obasanjo fought me because of my song,

Boko Haram leader, Shekau, speaks; vows to attack Nigerian refineries, Buhari, Babangida, others

The leader of the extremist Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau, has, in a video released to journalists, threatened more attacks against Nigeria, saying his members would target Nigeria’s sources of revenue, and her refineries.

Mr. Shekau, a fugitive, who is wanted for terrorism by both Nigeria and the U.S., also vowed to kill major Islamic clerics and people that support democracy, western education, and Christianity.

He said the state of emergency currently in place in Adamawa. Borno, and Yobe, could not deter his group, and called on his members in other states, particularly Kano, to attack civilians and government institutions.

The Boko Haram sect is responsible for killing thousands of people, largely civilians, since their insurrection began in Northern Nigeria in 2009. Over 200 Borno villagers have been killed in the

A Touching Story.!

Touching story.

As she stood in front of her 5th grade class on the very first day of school, she told the children an untruth. Like most teachers, she looked at her students and said that she loved them all the same. However, that was impossible, because there in the front row, slumped in his seat, was a little boy named Teddy Stoddard.

Mrs. Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and noticed that he did not play well with the other children, that his clothes were messy and that he constantly needed a bath. In addition, Teddy could be unpleasant.

It got to the point where Mrs. Thompson would actually take delight in marking his papers with a broad red pen, making bold X's and then putting a big "F" at the top of his papers.

At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to review each child's past records and she put Teddy's off until last. However, when she reviewed his file, she was in for a surprise.

Teddy's first grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is a bright child with a ready laugh. He does his work neatly and has good manners... he is a joy to be around.."

His second grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is an excellent student, well liked by his classmates, but he is troubled because his mother has a terminal illness and life at home must be a struggle."

His third grade teacher wrote, "His mother's death has been hard on him. He tries to do his best, but his father doesn't show much interest and his home life will soon affect him if some steps aren't taken."

Teddy's fourth grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is withdrawn and doesn't show much interest in school. He doesn't have many friends and he sometimes sleeps in class."

By now, Mrs. Thompson realized the problem and she was ashamed of herself. She felt even worse when her students brought her Christmas presents, wrapped in beautiful ribbons and bright paper, except for Teddy's. His present was clumsily wrapped in the heavy, brown paper That he got from a grocery bag Mrs. Thompson took pains to open it in the middle of the other presents. Some of the children started to laugh when she found a rhinestone bracelet with some of the stones missing, and a bottle that was one-quarter full of perfume.. But she stifled the children's laughter when she exclaimed how pretty the bracelet was, putting it on, and dabbing some of the perfume on her wrist. Teddy Stoddard stayed after school that day just long enough to say, "Mrs. Thompson, today you smelled just like my Mom used to." After the children left, she cried for at least an hour.

On that very day, she quit teaching reading, writing and arithmetic. Instead, she began to teach children. Mrs. Thompson paid particular attention to Teddy. As she worked with him, his mind seemed to come alive. The more she encouraged him, the faster he responded. By the end of the year, Teddy had become one of the smartest children in the class and, despite her lie that she would love all the children the same, Teddy became one of her "teacher's pets.."

A year later, she found a note under her door, from Teddy, telling* her that she was still the best teacher he ever had in his whole life.

Six years went by before she got another note from Teddy. He then wrote that he had finished high school, third in his class, and she was still the best teacher he ever had in life.

Four years after that, she got another letter, saying that while things had been tough at times, he'd stayed in school, had stuck with it, and would soon graduate from college with the highest of honors. He assured Mrs. Thompson that she was still the best and favorite teacher he had ever had in his whole life.

Then four more years passed and yet another letter came. This time he explained that after he got his bachelor's degree, he decided to go a little further. The letter explained that she was still the best and favorite teacher he ever had. But now his name was a little longer.... The letter was signed, Theodore F. Stoddard, MD.

The story does not end there. You see, there was yet another letter that spring. Teddy said he had met this girl and was going to be married. He explained that his father had died a couple of years ago and he was wondering if Mrs. Thompson might agree to sit at the wedding in the place that was usually reserved for the mother of the groom.

Of course, Mrs. Thompson did. And guess what? She wore that bracelet, the one with several rhinestones missing. Moreover, she made sure she was wearing the perfume that Teddy remembered his mother wearing on their last Christmas together.

They hugged each other, and Dr. Stoddard whispered in Mrs. Thompson's ear, "Thank you Mrs. Thompson for* believing in me. Thank you so much for making me feel important and showing me that I could make a difference."

Mrs. Thompson, with tears in her eyes, whispered back. She said, "Teddy, you have it all wrong. You were the one who taught me that I could make a difference. I didn't know how to teach until I met you."

(For you that don't know, Teddy Stoddard is the Dr. at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines that has the Stoddard Cancer Wing.)

Warm someone's heart today. . . pass this along. I love this story so very much, I cry every time I read it. Just try to make a difference in someone's life today? tomorrow? Just "do it".

Random acts of kindness, I think they call it?

Séx Scandal Rocks Popular Billionaire Family in Lagos

Things are not the same any more, gone are the days when women respect their marriage. As you read this, a major séx scandal has enveloped three prominent families – and if not well handled, will not only injure their  age long reputations, but may even consume some lives.

The situation is that bad. In fact, it is so odious. This explains why their parents have been running helter skelter and doing everything within their power to ensure that the matter doesn’t get messier.

Below is how the cat was let out of the bag:

The three families involved are from Osun, Lagos and Oyo States. All socialites and big time businessmen, one of them was at some point a Minister of the Federal Republic.

Shoga, one of the major actors, was caught sleeping with his best friend’s wife, Biodun. The said Biodun is also very close to Esther, Shoga’s wife.

A source told YES International Magazine that Bankole, husband to Biodun, was at home with his wife gisting and jiving until she excused herself to go freshen up. Not long after she went into the rest room, her phone rang. Her innocent husband picked it and what he saw on the screen was SH – that is, Sweet Heart. Wondering who his wife could be referring to as such, he took a

You have to live in dreamland if you want a good night's sleep, according to the usual expert advice: Make your bedroom into a spa like sanctuary. Don't drink a drop of caffeine after 2 p.m. No laptops in the bedroom. So we were shocked when sleep doctor Michael Breus, PhD, admitted that he drifts off with the TV on and his Chihuahua, Sparky, and cat, Monte, in the bed -- two major no-nos. His refreshing philosophy: "Steer clear of all the hard-and-fast rules and do what makes sense for your lifestyle." That we can handle. Read on for more surprising sleep tips that mere mortals like us can actually follow.

Sleep in on weekends. Forget all the blah-blah about maintaining a consistent wakeup time every day. Snoozing late on the weekend can have real benefits. Adults who were sleep deprived for five days (sound

All Eyes on Kelly Rowland on the Red Carpet & Stage at Darey Art-Alade’s Love Like a Movie II in Lagos

Kelly Rowland at Love Like a Movie 2 - February 2014 - BellaNaija 01
And Ms. Kelly rules the night!
American music superstar Kelly Rowland was live at Darey Art-Alade‘s Love Like a Movie: The Love Roller Coaster show yesterday Saturday 15th February 2014 at the Oceanview Grounds, Victoria Island, Lagos.
She co-hosted the red carpet and performed on stage.
The last time Kelly was in Nigeria, she fainted on stage but this time, Kelly bravely took to the stage with the clear intention of rocking it. She performed a lot of her songs as well as some Destiny’s Child tracks which everyone present couldn’t help but move to.
Kelly had two looks for the night.
On the red carpet, she arrived in an Ankara sequined crop top and pants. Rocking her short hairstyle, she styled the piece with diamond stud earrings, a black crystal necklace, a selection of silver bracelets and brown sandals.
On the stage, she once again showed off her toned abs in a print short sleeve crop top and pants. She accessorized with a gold necklace and black boots.
Her manager and fiancé Tim Witherspoon was present to support his leading lady. Our cameras caught Tim enjoying his time at the show; he even took out his iPhone to take a photo of our photographer…how cute!
Brandy Norwood who will be performing at the Classic FM show, was also present at the concert.
Enjoy these first photos.
