Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated he does not have any regrets in pushing Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho during the Gunners’ 2-0 loss at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, BBC reports.
The two rival managers were involved in a touchline argument after Blues defender Gary Cahill made a hard challenge on Alexis Sanchez.
Wenger explained his perspective, saying: “ What is to regret after that? I wanted to go from A to B and somebody confronted me without any sign of welcome.
“B was get to Sanchez to see if he was injured. Was it a push? A little one. You can see
when I really try to push.”
On the other hand, Mourinho wanted to forget that the event ever occurred, and that there was nothing wrong with his behavior.
“It becomes heated because this is a big game, big clubs, big rivals, and important match for both teams. These conditions make a game of emotions,” he said.
“I do so many wrong things in football. But not this time because this time I was just in my technical area and it was not my problem. Game over. Story over.”
Fourth official Jon Moss had to separate the pair, however there will be no punishment for their respective actions.
