[marriagerestoration] Don't Be Discouraged!!

John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

While waiting on the Lord for your breakthrough, do you sometimes feel discouraged because of the wait?

As Christians, we want to always be happy and filled with God's joy. But the fact is we get discouraged. When we do, we often deal with ourselves harshly and condemn ourselves, etc. After all, Christians are never supposed to be discouraged, right? The fact is the Bible is full of example of believers who became discouraged. As we study Ezra 4:1-5, 24 we will see how the nation of Israel became discouraged.

Psalm 34:19, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all." And also Isaiah 43:2, "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee;
and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee."

Read the Word of God when you are discouraged. Trusting in God's word is not something that happens overnight, but comes from a lifetime commitment as we learn through our trials and times of discouragement to place our confidence in Him.

As Paul pointed out in Romans 5:3-4 "And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope."

Only by going through tribulations do we learn patience. And only after we learn to patiently trust God do we gain experience of God's delivering hand. Only after we've patiently gone through the experience of many trials do we finally learn to place our hope in God, knowing that He has the ultimate control over our lives.

This is an ongoing process which begins when we don't allow the discouraging circumstances around us to overwhelm us. Along this journey, we may have our ups and downs, sometimes trusting God, other times falling back into discouragement. But the important thing is to continue on the journey slowly learning to turn our worries and concerns more and more over to the Lord.

As always, I pray and intercede on your behalf daily. For all those who are supporting me in this quest of marriages being healed, thanks very much for your support. Your prayers and support are appreciated.

Be encouraged
