Judge flees as hoodlums invade court in proceedings against Fayose, 2 injured (Photo)

The Ekiti State High Court witnessed a major uproar after hoodlums invaded it to disrupt proceedings in a case challenging the eligibility of the Governor-elect, Ayo Fayose.

The hoodlums who were said to be about a hundred stormed the court moments after the Judge, Justice Olusegun Ogunyemi refused an application to disregard an order to shorten the time for the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate to file his defence in the case filed on behalf of socio-political group, Ekiti-11 by a member, Mr. Femi Ajakaiye, Punch reports.

Just as the Judge was preparing to resume proceedings on the matter after he had adjourned till 12noon to prepare a ruling in a similar matter filed by the Citizen Popular Party, the trouble-ready hoodlums invaded the court. Continue...

The hoodlums were reportedly angered by the perceived partiality of the Judge who was smuggled out of the chambers through the back door to avoid being lynched by the aggressors. But the Chairman of Ado West Local Council Development Authority, Mr. Sunday Ibitoye, and Ajakaye, weren't that lucky as they were attacked.
