Hackers Point Large Botnet At WordPress Sites To Steal Admin Passwords And Gain Server Access
HostGator’s analysis found that this is a well-organized and very distributed attack. The company believes that about 90,000 IP addresses are currently involved. CloudFlare, its founder and CEO Matthew Prince told me earlier today, thinks the hackers control about 100,000 bots. As for the scope of the attack, Prince says that CloudFlare saw attacks on virtually every WordPress site on its network.
If somebody guesses your WordPress password, that’s obviously a big problem, but attacks like this then open up ways for the hackers to take over your server – and that’s what whoever is behind this attack is clearly after. The CloudFlare team believes that the attacker is currently using a network of relatively low-powered home PCs, but the aim is “to build a much larger botnet of beefy servers in preparation for a future attack.” Home PCs can be the staging ground for a large denial-of-service attack, but servers have access to far more bandwidth and can hence push out far larger amounts of traffic.
This currently attack is similar to an attack in 2012 that was also aimed at WordPress sites. That attack, however, was looking for outdated versions of TimThumb, a popular PHP-based image resizer that is often used as the default by many WordPress templates.
Both CloudFlare and HostGator, as well as a number of other hosting providers, have taken measures to protect their customers. Besides choosing a very strong password – which is always a good idea – you can also install a number of WordPress plugins that limit the number of login attempts from the same IP address or network to put a stop to these brute-force attacks (though as WordPress founder Matt Mullenweg notes in a blog post this afternoon, changing your ‘admin’ username to something ab it more obscure may be your best defense given that the hackers do have 90,000 IPs at their disposal). If your site is hosted on WordPress.com, you can also turn on two-factor authentication to add an extra layer of security

5 absurd myths about first time sex
Everybody wants their first time to be perfect. Some even envision it to be some kind of fairytale moment. Nothing wrong with that, but one should know that there could be slip-ups, all the same. The man often wishes intercourse to last longer, but if he achieves orgasm early (presumably due to a rush ofexcitement), it is okay! Some may even fail to achieve an erection and in that moment of disappointment, label themselves as not being ‘up to the mark’. If that is what you think, it is a big mistake. You can always end the session with ample foreplay. If things don’t go as planned in the very first time, there’s always a second time. If a man can achieve an erection during masturbation, he is normal. So just relax and go with the flow.

Much to my surprise I saw that my post 1 month ago was the last post to this forum.
I started visiting this forum some 10 years ago, when Mel was - of course - the leading poster here.
I hope to stimulate discussion by bringing up some comments, based especially on Mel's book Supertraining.
I will refer to the page in the book (6th edition) if possible.
------------
FORCE-VELOCITY
I will start with the use of the force-velocity curve in sports (also based on the 1RM discussion early on);
In most text books and educational centers we learn about the Hyperbolic force-velocity curve, discovered by Hill (page 19).
On page 147, the limitations of the force-velocity curve are discussed. Specifica
The linear force-velocity curve is used in software of some training devices, in order to predict the 1RM without having to max out during the exercise.
As training effects are specific in technique, coordination, velocity, etc. it's good to know what quality exactly you want to improve, and what training program you should do.
Therefore, it's not only the 1RM that is of interest, yet the whole force-velocity curve at all velocities, especially those velocities produced during sports.
I look forward to your comments and/or experiences and research. Also I am interested to know what products are used and how it is used to get the results.
Cheers,

already.
I can repeat what I said back then: the curve offered by the paper is
linear because it doesn't refer to instantaneous speed bu to average speed.
Hill's curve refers to instantaneous speed. By the way the link works only
if one deletes the last period.

I was hoping I might get a few different opinions on the issue of core
training. For many years we accepted that we should train the core, to
improve both posture and spinal control during dynamic movements to resist
displacing forces. Most of us have at some point made reference to McGill's
work. However, my debate is how we achieve this, as most core training
protocols tend to veer into isometric endurance, either by increasing time
in a plank or the sets and reps of a Swiss ball exercise. On the other hand,
what I want to achieve is the athletes ability to resist greater and greater
displacing forces (I also acknowledge that core endurance is valuable and
still has a role to play). So what are peoples thoughts on training core
strength as a different quality to core endurance?
