Nora Mankel, British Citizen Kidnapped In Abia State Still Alive

Nora Mankel, British Citizen Kidnapped In Abia State Still Alive – Report
Fresh facts have emerged over the nationality of the lady kidnapped in an Abia community some weeks ago who was reported to be an American citizen and to have died in the hands of her abductors.
Daily Sun has reliably gathered that the lady, whose name was given as Nora Mankel is a Briton and was still alive although had not been freed by her captors weeks after she was kidnapped.
Nora, whose mother hails from Umunkiri in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State and was married to a Briton where she (Nora) was born, was reported to have visited her mother’s home town during the Easter holidays as she had always done, when she was kidnapped.
According to a close family source, who wouldn’t want his name in print, Nora, on the day she was kidnapped had gone to town in the company of her fiancé, whose identity could not be ascertained as at press time, to buy some items she intended going back with to the United Kingdom. As they were said to be coming home late in the evening after shopping, in a
bulletproof red Avensus Toyota car, on approaching the main gate to her grandparent’s house at Umunkiri, the hoodlums, who had laid in wait, opened fire on the vehicle.
The shooting was reported to have lasted for several minutes and later died down. However, due to the fact the car was bulletproof, none of the occupants was hit by any bullet, but the vehicle was demobilized as the four tyres were destroyed in the process.
Daily Sun also gathered that after about 30 minutes, hoping that the hoodlums had escaped, Nora’s fiance opened the driver’s door of the car and the men of the under world, who were still around, opened fire again, killing him instantly before abducting the lady to an unknown destination.
Soldiers, who were earlier alerted over the incident were said to have allegedly traced the home of some of those involved in the operation to Onicha Ngwa, where they made some arrests and burnt houses believed to belong to the hoodlums.
Questioned on the fate of the kidnapped lady when he visited Aba over the weekend, Abia State Commissioner of Police, Usman Tilli Abubakar gave hope of her rescue as he said, “since I reported officially to the state about 42 days ago, there have been only four reported cases of kidnap. We have rescued three victims and we are working hard to rescue the fourth victim.”
There are indications that the lady might be freed anytime this week as impeccable source informed that family members were said to have concluded arrangements to meet up with the ransom demanded by the kidnappers.
